摘要:
观看视频跳转行为是指学习者在观看课程视频时,主动快进或后退,按照自身知识加工需求而主动调节注意力的行为。这一指标体现视频中的知识呈现与学习者认识加工速度之间的协调性。分析跳转行为与MOOCs课程视频特性间的关系,以确定什么样的视频容易引发跳转行为,可以促进视频质量和学习参与。利用Coursera平台上的中文课程“大数据与信息传播”后台点击行为大数据,分析了四种视频风格、及六种PPT特征,并对分析进行评分者一致性的检验,将视频特征的分析结果与跳转行为频率之间的关系进行比对。结果显示:(1)头像和PPT交替出现的视频跳转率最高;单独出现PPT或头像,与PPT和头像同时出现的视频比较,跳转率没有差别;(2)PPT中出现作业、概念性内容时,跳转率增高,出现总结性内容时跳转率降低。可见,跳转行为是课程视频效果及学习投入评估的指标,可以根据跳转率变化的提示制作符合远程学习者认知习惯的课程视频。
Abstract:
The students’ seek behaviors including moving forward and backward in the video during watching. Seek behavior is an index of coordination between learners’ cognitive processing speed and the information display style in the video. The analysis of the relationship between Seek behavior and the features of MOOCs video shows how students adjust attention in accordant to the video. Based on the background data for clips behavior from the Chinese course “big data and information transmission” on Coursera platform, Two researchers analyzed video features including four types of video style, six PPT styles, with the consistence check, and then compared the relationship of analysis result and clips behavior, which showed that: (1) Among the three video styles, the video that including PPT/figure alternative occurrence has the highest seek rate. The seek rate for concurrence and occurrence in sequence of PPT and figure has no significant difference. (2) The seek rate increase when the PPT shows assignment, core concept. The seek rate decrease when PPT shows conclusion information. The result indicates that the seek behavior can be an index to evaluate students’ attention maintain and shift while video watching. Thus it can be a significant index for course video efficiency and learning engagement in future MOOCs course evaluation. The result can be a reference for video produce to conform to students’ cognitive habit.
