“互联网+”时代表现出的一大显性特征为信息超载,使得人类有限的注意力可被视为一种稀有资源/能量,保有消费者的注意力成为获得在线教育创新可持续性发展的基础。从生物学中克莱伯的3/4定律来看,集体注意力流系统与外界进行“能量消耗”(集体注意力的积聚与耗散)来维系课程学习空间的“体重”(集体注意力的流转量)。在此基础上,把在线学习的复杂性、动态性、灵活性和开放性等特征纳入理论框架,可以将在线课程建构为开放与平衡的集体注意力流系统。因此,通过对学堂在线平台《心理学概论》MOOC课程进行研究发现,在线学习中集体注意力的交换量与流转量之间同样遵循复杂系统中的普适性幂律法则,提出集体注意力保有率指标r用来评测课程空间中学习者的集体注意力的积聚量/耗散量(与外界的交换量)是否会随着集体注意力的总流转量的增长呈现类似生物体的异速增长的趋势,这一指标不受时间、学习者人数与点击总量的影响,是一个相对恒定的指标,相对于辍学率等其它评价指标而言,更具有公正与客观性,为建设开放与灵活的未来学习环境提供监测预警。
Abstract:
With the emergence of the information-rich age, a wealth of information creates a poverty of attention and a need to allocate that attention efficiently across the over-abundance of information sources that might consume it. Taking the perspective of kleber’s 3/4 law in metabolic ecology, to maintain the “weight” of the course learning space (circulation of the collective attention), the open system exchange “energy” (the dissipation and ambulation of the collective attention) with the outside world. On this basis, the complexity, dynamics, flexibility and openness of online learning are incorporated into the theoretical framework, and the online course can be constructed as an open and balanced collective attention flow system. Research on the XuetangX MOOC course “Introduction to Psychology” found that there is also a power law relationship between the amount of the exchange and the circulation of the collective attention. This study proposes to use the index r as an indicator to assess whether the dissipation and ambulation of the collective attention (exchange with the outside world) in the online course space shows an abnormal-speed growth trend similar to that of an organism with the increase of the total flow of collective attention. In contract to conventional indicator, such as dropout rate, r index is capable of measuring the dynamics of the course, which highlights fairness and objectivity. The paper provides a new way of monitoring and warning for the construction of open and flexible future learning environment.
