教育智能体(Pedagogical Agent,PA)对认知学习的作用是学界关注的热点问题之一,然而已有研究尚未能对此给出明确的答案。为了探究教育智能体对认知学习的作用机制,论文筛选并梳理2011至2019年间围绕教育智能体的实证研究文献29篇,探讨PA研究的基本理论、观点和方法;利用教育智能体-应用情形模型(Pedagogical Agents-Conditions of Use,PACU),并结合内容分析方法,从功能、设计、学习者和学习环境4个方面,分析PA对学习表现、学习动机和认知负荷的影响。综述结果表明,教育智能体的内部因素(功能、设计)是近十年研究的热点,智能化的情绪、认知调节功能以及视线指引功能对学习表现和学习动机有显著促进作用。教育智能体外部因素(学习者、学习环境)的研究还处于较为浅层的状态。未来研究应以智能技术为支撑,由内及外全面、深入地开展,并从研究设计角度加强对各因素间调节/中介作用的关注。
Abstract:
Both at the policy level and the research level, Pedagogical Agent (PA) is the focus of future development although its research in China is still at its infancy. In order to discover the effect of pedagogical agent on cognitive learning, this study collected empirical studies of pedagogical agent published during 2011 to 2019. Then the fundamental theories, ideas and methods were discussed. The adjusted Pedagogical Agents-Conditions of Use (PACU) model was implemented to systematically review 29 selected studies. This study employed content analysis to analyze how pedagogical agents might affect learning performance, motivation and cognitive load from the perspective of function, design, learning environment and learner. Results indicated that internal factors (function, design) of pedagogical agents have been widely concerned in the last decade. Intelligent emotion and cognition mediation as well as attention direction showed significant positive effect on performance and motivation. However, external factors (learner, learning environment) still need to be further investigated. Future research should be intelligent technologies-base, gradually migrate from focusing on internal to external factors and pay more attention to mediating and moderating effects among variables.
