扩展现实(XR)体现了虚拟现实技术的最新发展,其涵盖虚拟现实、增强现实、混合现实等多种形式,能够创设完全沉浸式的虚拟世界,XR也使低成本、高效率营造沉浸式学习环境成为可能。作为研究沉浸式学习的重要国际会议平台,沉浸式学习研究网络(iLRN)从2014年成立以来,已经连续召开多次研讨会。iLRN 2020国际会议,则集中呈现了XR技术所打造的沉浸式学习环境方面的数十项研究新进展。这些研究成果显示:应用扩展现实技术可打造虚实融合的混合学习空间,能够构建虚拟实验室;XR大幅推进了游戏化学习环境的创设,在职业培训中能极大提升知识获取和技能训练;XR还将故事讲述转型为沉浸式叙事,为参与者带来全新的沉浸式体验,使学习者有机会成为创意设计者和知识创造者。扩展现实技术的应用正从精英走向大众,实施成本在大幅降低,其在营造新型、逼真的沉浸式学习方面潜力巨大,今后沉浸式学习与体验也将日趋普及。
Abstract:
Extended reality(XR) embodies the latest development of virtual reality technology, covering virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and other forms, which can create a completely immersive virtual world. Extended reality makes it possible to create an immersive learning environment with low cost and high efficiency. As an important international conference platform for the study of immersive learning, the immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN) has held seminars since its establishment in 2014. iLRN 2020 international conference focused on dozens of new developments in the immersive learning environment created by XR technology. The application of extended reality technology can create a mixed learning space and build a virtual laboratory. XR greatly promotes the creation of learning environment within game, and can greatly improve knowledge acquisition and skill training in vocational training. Not only that, the extended reality also transforms the story narration into the immersive narrative, which brings a new immersive experience to readers, listeners and audiences, and gives learners the opportunity to become creative designers and knowledge creators. The application of extended reality technology is moving from elite to public, and the implementation cost is greatly reduced. The potential of XR in creating a new immersive learning environment is huge. In the future, immersion learning and experience will become more and more popular.
